THE HEDGE

We (Jesus and I) lace this article with gentleness, with the intent that we may grow into that perfect man together.

If you have never heard the false teaching that we are going to address here, you may learn something.  Just count yourself blessed if you have heard it before!  Listen to the Spirit and learn!

The false message that has distorted our Father’s nature and character that we want to expose here because it is so destructive, is that God did NOT put a hedge around Adam; that God broke His own law, and therefore he HAD to pay for Adam’s sin.  The law He supposedly broke says that anyone who builds a house, and does not put a hedge around the rooftop, and someone falls off and dies, then the owner of the house has to pay with his life.  A life for a life.

Since God created us, He owns us.  We are the house that God built.  (Jesus and I agree with that!) But we strongly disagree that God did NOT put a hedge around Adam, as we shall show.

We (you and I) know and understand that everything is upheld by the word of His power!  Our Father has integrity!  We often do not think of God concerning integrity.  But our Father is not a man that He should lie.  He does not sin by transgressing His own law.  We submit to you that if He did, this entire universe would collapse.  If He broke His word, nothing would be upheld; He would be powerless.

Everything, yes, everything we think, needs to be submitted to the written word of God for correction, for instruction in righteousness, so that we may rightly divide what we think is true.  I often ask God:  What do I believe that is not true”?  I have found He loves to answer that heart’s plea because it comes from someone who recognizes they may not be right about everything!

So, let’s think about that as we open this up to you:

Does the word of God protect us?
Psalms 91:4: His truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
Proverbs 30:5: Every word of God is pure: He is a shield unto them that put their trust in Him.  Add not to His words, lest He reprove you and you be found a liar.

Does the word of God keep us from falling?
Psalms 119:105: Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Jude 4:4: Now, unto Him that is able to keep you from falling.

We know His written word and His Word (Christ) keeps us from falling.

   What does a hedge do?
A hedge protects us, and keeps us from falling.  God’s word is a hedge.

God put a hedge around Adam.  He gave Adam His word. “DO NOT EAT”.  This was God’s word to Adam; this was God’s hedge to keep him from falling.

You have heard that rules are made to be broken, but we say that rules are made to be kept.  Can you quite imagine that a mother would tell her children that one of their chores every morning is to make their bed; it is the rule of the house and then, all the while, she never intends for them to make their bed.  Ridiculous!!!  These children would never know what she really wanted.  They could not trust her.  They could not trust that she means what she says.

Yet, we would ascribe this very idea to God.  We assume way too many things about God’s nature and character; we say things and do not stop to hear ourselves, and what it is that we are really saying about Him.  Pay attention!

Let’s see if we can straighten out this false teaching with His word.  Remember God’s word upholds everything.

First, let us understand this: God so LOVED is the reason He gave His only begotten Son.  His word says so.  It does not say He got Himself in a position where He had to “pay up”.

Secondly, God did NOT break His own law!  Do you realize if you believe that, you are saying God sinned?  Perish the thought!  Literally, perish the thought, for that is all it is: a carnal, unbelieving thought.

Thirdly, we have already shown that God’s word is a hedge, and that He had given His word to Adam.

Now, we know why some have taught this.  They do not have the answer to “the freedom of choice” question.  But, I do.  Why do I have this answer?  Because God gave it to me by revelation.  Now, I do not boast of having 100’s of revelations.  But I do have a few, and God has made it painfully clear to me that it is my responsibility to add my part to revealing the Christ within.  Maybe I am an ear or an eye that the body of Christ needs. What if I left my part out?  Let me say… it is tempting. Sometimes it is not easy to make myself vulnerable to criticism, but our Father said to me, “Are you going to share the revelations I give you or shall I stop revealing my word to you”?  If you love the word the way I do, that would be death to my soul.  (Please read “PURPOSE IN RELATIONSHIP on this website to understand the freedom of choice)

So, it is important to ask questions.  Pay attention!

Isaiah 1:18: Come now, let us reason together saith the LORD.

Reading the rest of Isaiah, we discover that Jesus is the only one doing any talking.  So, we say listen and learn.

We cannot understand the nature and character of God without getting the beginning right” the Genesis.  There is a consistency in the nature and character of our Father and the word that He has given us.  Adam’s story is our story.  When we get that right, the ability to SEE with wisdom and understanding becomes easier.  GENESIS THROUGH REVELATION, He is the same, yesterday, today, and forever.  He is always Father: The Source

There is not a question our Father will not answer when asked in all sincerity and faith. He certainly answered the questions I asked concerning “The Hedge” when I heard the teaching on it.  The teaching I heard on “The Hedge” was just another one of those things that “stuck in my craw”, causing a great annoyance.  So, I asked my Father about it and He answered it.

I HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE: BONNIE
