This article is meant to help us understand what to do between the time we have prayed and the time the answer to our prayer manifests.

Let’s see what we can discover about manifested prayer by considering Romans 5:1-4 and a little known word “Guyline”.  Sometimes it is spelled guy line.

Romans 5:1-4 Therefore, being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. By whom also we have access by faith through this grace wherein we now stand, and now rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also; knowing that tribulation worketh PATIENCE; and patience, experience; and experience HOPE: and hope maketh not ashamed; because the LOVE of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

You might be thinking: “What has that got to do with guylines and manifested prayer?”  All I have to offer is that this is how our Father ministered to me concerning my prayers.” Many years ago, I might add!  And I loved what it did for me. Romans 5 has become one of my favorite scripture. I have meditated it many many times with His guidance.

Do you know what a guy line is?  If you know a logger, you probably do know, but if you don’t… 3 guy lines are used to hold up a spar tree for lifting logs.

For our purpose here, let’s say the spar tree are sign words for “FAITH”.

With this understanding, the rest of Romans 5:1-5 guides us to the answer we are seeking to our question: What do we do while we wait for a manifestation to our prayer of faith?

Since we are using “spar tree” as sign words for faith… What is holding faith up? According to our sign word, it would have to be some guy lines.

After “FAITH”, it seems tribulation comes along, but it is met with patience.  So, our first guy line that will help us sustain our faith is “PATIENCE.”  Just imagine how long Abraham had this guy line working for him until his faith finally manifested.

And it seems that patience brings experience and experience moves us into HOPE.  If you will examine your own life in Christ, you will realize this is true.  This certainly reminds me of another experience Abraham had late in his life. Abraham in “HOPE” believed and so became the father of many nations, just as God spoke to him in Romans 4:18.

So, our 2nd guy line that will help sustain our faith is “HOPE.”

Now, the scripture in Romans says: The Love of God is shed abroad in our heart. The first time love is mentioned in the bible is when God told Abraham to sacrifice Issac. He said, “Take your son, your only son Issac, whom you love” – Genesis 22:2  Scripture says that Abraham was a “friend” of God.  How many friends do you have that you do not love?  Abraham was a man who loved God.  His life is a great example of “Faith” held up by “Patience”, “Hope”, and “Love.”

So, our third guy line that sustains our faith is “Love” for without faith, love will not work.

Let’s talk about examining our faith.  We can examine it by checking our guy lines.  I have specifically checked these guy lines to be refreshed in my request.  I would check by asking: 1. Is my patience working?  2. Where is my hope in what I have asked for?  3. Am I walking in love?

One specific in my own life…

I prayed for my son.  I only prayed one prayer.  Why? Because I believed God. But I checked my guy lines many times.  That prayer took many many years to manifest. Today, he has a fire in his belly for God.  I am very blessed by his life.

This is something that worked for me.  I hope it will help you as you seek God for your own prayer requests.
